Sydney Central Plaza

Sydney Central Plaza incorporates a lengthy underground shopping complex in the heart of Sydney city, allowing retailers to walk through as they arrive at Town Hall Station, pass through The Queen Victoria Building, and finish at Pitt Street Mall. This journey for shopping lovers, is even more greatly appreciated in stormy weather as it keeps them dry, and also provides an undercover pathway for corporate employees, travelling to and from their workplace.

Sydney Central Plaza is situated in the old Grace Bothers building and has an old architectural exterior, with a modern and stylish shopping complex interior. The main retailer is the popular Myer chain, which sells a range of men's, women's and children's clothing, in addition to beauty products, perfumes, stationery and electronics. This store is one of the largest retailers in the Sydney central business district and provides to a similar retail crowd to the nearby David Jones shopping complex.

A massive food court is also situated in this building and is one of the largest ones offered in the city with mass crowds attending here for their midday meal every weekday for office workers, and for young people and families on the weekends. The meals provided are extremely diverse and include many different cultural cuisines. If you plan on eating here, expect to squeeze onto a toadstool shaped table, that is if one is available in busy times, and eat in a noisy and crowded space. The area though, is very open, and the wide staircase that rises up to Pitt Street Mall above, is no less than elegant.

Other nearby shopping complexes include Skygarden, the Imperial and Strand Arcades and the impressive Westfield Centerpoint Tower which rises high above the office buildings with a needle-point finish to the sky. If you'd like a 360 degree view around the city of Sydney, pay for an elevator ride to the top and soak in the magnificent views.
