The MLC Centre

The MLC Centre is one of the most unique and profound buildings in the inner-city commercial district of Sydney. It was designed by the accomplished American architect, Harry Seidler, who helped to create a series of other well-recognised and progressive buildings around the city.

The MLC Centre continues with his preference for modern and minimalistic designs, using distinctive angles and innovative concepts. Seidler's buildings are a complete contrast to the Victorian-style structures that can be found in the centre of Sydney, and even the more modern commercial constructions still don't match the originality and personality conveyed in the architecture of The MLC Centre.

The MLC complex includes a very tall office building, which at its time was the highest in Sydney. Some notable businesses have their offices at this prestigious address, including consulates and other world-organisations. Even a mailing address, located at the MLC Centre is valuable for a business, and can either cost a lot, or requires a lengthy waiting list.

The MLC shopping centre provides a range of men's and women's fashions, and high-end jewellery stores. This is an excellent location to search for a unique and memorable gift that is if you have money to spend and a serious impression to make. The MLC centre also provides some reputable dining options on a high-end, including western and Asian style cuisines, or the food court can provide some simple and quick options if you seek an affordable weekday meal.

When the MLC complex was constructed, it replaced an old theatre building, and at the time this development was very controversial. The current MLC building also contains a theatre, The Theatre Royal, which is Australia's oldest theatre and hosts some of the world's most desired performances, including Broadway-style musicals. If you are planning on viewing a musical such as Cats or The Phantom of the Opera, you will certainly find yourself entering The MLC Centre, and the Theatre Royal.
