Walsh Bay Sculpture Walk

Over recent years Walsh Bay has grown to become Sydney’s culture, art and entertainment hub. Today the precinct boasts the Walsh Bay Sculpture Walk, which includes works from Brett Whiteley’s towering Black Totem II through to Jimmie Durham’s head-turning Still Life With Stone and Car. Funded by Transfield, with works from its own collection and loans from artists and private patrons, the sculptures have all been carefully chosen for their unique location in Walsh Bay. There are more sculptures planned in the near future.

             

Resist - if you can - the temptation to savour a coffee at one of the charming harbourside cafes while you meander through the modern sculptures positioned alongside Sydney’s harbour and the beautifully restored heritage wharves. While you’re here take in the latest drama and dance in Sydney’s premier theatres. Maybe you prefer to participate in culture rather than just watch it? No problem, get energetic and take a class with the Sydney Dance Company. Walsh Bay also plays host to the prestigious Biennale of Sydney, another Transfield initiative, and the Sydney Writers Festival.
